Dakar et Gorée
1 day Dakar - Gorée (with lunch)

You will spend the morning touring the capital city of Dakar, followed by lunch and a visit to Goree Island (please see half-day tourslisted above).
Departure from Saly at 9:00 am. Passing through the baobab forest of Sindia, the traditional Sérères villages and the old colonial town of Rufisque, arriving in Dakar after a 1 ¼ hour journey. Visit of the typical markets of the city, stop at the Presidential Palace with its famous "Red Guard Spahi", stop at the Grand Mosque, visit of the popular districts of the Medina, colorful and always lively. Visit of the residential districts with typical Sahelian architecture and stop at the artisanal village of Soumbédioune where all types of Senegalese crafts are represented.
At midday, departure by rowboat for the island of Gorée, where you will arrive after 20 minutes of crossing. Lunch at the restaurant "Le Chevalier de Boufflers". Afternoon, visit of the island, a historical monument of the world heritage.
Gorée for 300 years was the most famous center in Africa for the slave trade, visit to the Historical Museum, visit to the famous "House of Slaves", visit to the Museum of Women, Fort d'Estrée, etc.
Return to Dakar at 5:00 p.m. and continuation to Saly where you will arrive at 6:15 p.m.
