2 DAYS TOUR TO SAINT-LOUIS

DAY 1: DAKAR / THIES / SAINT-LOUIS
You will set off from Dakar in the morning with a stop in the town of Thies to see its tremendous market full of colorful African fabrics and medicinal herbs. In Thies, you will also visit the Art Tapestries Manufactory, which boasts a collection of the most beautiful Senegalese paintings selected once a year in a nationwide competion and woven into very exclusive tapestries. As you drive, you will stop to visit villages in the countryside. You will arrive in Saint Louis at noon, where you will check-in and enjoy lunch in the hotel located in the historic city center. At 4:00 pm, you will embark on a tour the historic city of Saint Louis with stops at the Governor’s Palace,Faidherbe Square, the local radio station, and NdarToute Market. As you pass through the town, you will have a chance to admire the ironsmith balconies of the colonial style houses. In horse-drawn carriage, you will visit the picturesque district of GuetNdarand the fishermen cemetery surrounded by nets and fish drying sheds. You will return to the hotel late in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

DAY 2 : SAINT-LOUIS / DJOUDJ OR LANGUE DE BARBARIE/ SAINT- LOUIS / DAKAR
Breakfast in the hotel before you set off to discover the Djoudj Bird Sanctuary just near Saint Louis. Home to over 1.5 million bird species, this UNESCO designated site spans 16,00 hectares of wetlands including a large lake, streams, and ponds. By bus and motor canoe, you will view the various types of birds in a paradise of ornithology. Some of the birds you will see include pelicans, ruppells griffons,flamingos,fishing eagles, and more—a parade of nature and wildlife before your eyes!
You will have lunch in the park before returning to Dakar in the afternoon. On the way to Dakar you will make stops in traditional villages and markets.
