3-DAY TOUR OF SALOUM
Listed as a World Biosphere Reserve and Human Heritage, the Saloum Delta with its many small islands, its many ornithological sites, its mangrove swamp with oyster beds, offers a great wealth of biodiversity and eco-systems. rare purity Birdwatching paradise, the Saloum Delta is conducive to ecological tourism and fantastic natural and human discoveries. It is in this region that are also found the megalithic sites and the funerary monuments of Sine Ngayene da?ng from the year 200 BC.

OPTION 1

DAY 1: DAKAR / FOUNDIOUGNE

Departure from Dakar in the morning, visit of the Pink Lake and its Fulani villages and continuation to Joal and Fadiouth via the small coast and the town of Mbour. Lunch in Joal and afternoon visit of the typical village with its shell cemetery, its granaries on stilts and meeting with the elders and notables of the village. Continuation to Foundiougne. Visit of more serene villages.
Dinner with folkloric dances at your hotel in Foundiougne.

 DAY 2: FOUNDIOUGNE / TOUBACOUTA / FOUNDIOUGNE
This morning you will visit the Mandingo villages in the Saloum right on the border with The Gambia. You will meet village chiefs, rural women's organisations and interact with the population. Lunch and enjoy the hospitality of the people. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Foundiougne. 

DAY 3: TOUBACOUTA / DAKAR
You will have breakfast in the hotel before you
depart for Dakar. During the day, you will visit the Senegalese bush villages and meet various ethnic groups. You will stop to visit the small city of Fatick where you will meet the Saltiguehealers and soothsayers. They will tell you about the XOY. Lunch will be served inNdagane, followed by free time to relax on the beach before driving back to Dakar at the end of the afternoon.

OPTION 2

DAY 1: DAKAR / KAOLACK / TOUBACOUTA 
Have breakfast in hotel before 8:00 am departure for Kaolack. You will drive through the old colonial town of Rufisque, DiamNiadio, and the Baobab forest of Sindia until you reach Mbour, where you will see the fish drying sheds and process. Once in Kaolack, you will stop at Hotel de Paris for lunch. At 2:00pm you will depart for Toubacouta visiting Mandingo villages along the way. You will reachToubacouta late in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in your lodge.

 DAY 2: TOUBACOUTA / BOSSINKA / TOUBACOUTA
After breakfast, departure for a motor canoe trip through the beautiful mangrove landscape, giving you the impression of being in the middle of the Amazon forest. Visit Bossinka Island. Picnic lunch on the beautiful sandy beach where you can swim and relax. You will visit the fishing port and the big sacred kapock tree in the village. Return to the lodge, dinner and overnight. 

DAY 3: TOUBACOUTA / JOAL FADIOUTH / DAKAR 

You will have breakfast in the hotel at 7:00 am before you set off for Saly via Foundiougne. Upon arrival in JoalFadiouth, you will explore of the village of Fadiouth, the shell cemetery, granaries on the white sand dunes, and meet the elders and notables of the village. Lunch will be served in Joal. As you proceed back to Dakar in the afternoon, you will visit Mbour, once a fishermen village but now a rapidly growing city. Arrival in Dakar in the afternoon.
